Allstream’s fibre reaches 2,388 buildings

Allstream, the national carrier division of Manitoba-based telco MTS Allstream, has reported its recent progress in expanding its IP fibre access into buildings across Canada. Allstream connected 299 additional buildings to its fibre network in 2011, including 75 in the fourth quarter, bringing its total number of fibre-fed buildings to 2,388 as of 31 December. In Q4 2011 alone, Allstream says it signed 46 new contracts to connect corporate customers to its 30,000km IP fibre network.
