Quad-play dawns for Swiss telco

23 Jan 2012

Swiss broadband and wireless provider Sunrise officially launches its IPTV service today, having begun user tests in October last year. Sunrise’s IPTV packages include 160 channels, 29 of which are HD, as well as catch-up TV functionality and a video-on-demand (VOD) library with over a thousand films. To celebrate the launch, the telco is offering a triple-play package with fixed telephony, 20Mbps broadband and IPTV for a special price of CHF115 (USD122.93) per month. Sunrise has also begun offering quad-play packages, making it the third operator to do so after fixed line incumbent and largest wireless operator by subscribers, Swisscom, and US-based Cablecom, which offers wireless services via a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with Orange Switzerland.
