Hungary’s mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) market is welcoming its latest player with the news that German retail chain Lidl is launching a commercial offer. The company will use Magyar Telekom’s T-Mobile unit to host the new service, which will be a reseller model offering a Lidl-branded product. The retailer joins rival Tesco in dipping its toe in the Hungarian mobile reseller market. The latter formed a MVNO venture with Vodafone at the end of 2011 with a view to launching in 1H12.
