Four bidders for 2.3GHz licences

Hong Kong’s Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA) has announced four bidders in its auction of spectrum in the 2.3GHz band for the provision of broadband wireless access services. The applicants are: China Mobile Hong Kong, Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) Limited (PCCW), Hutchison Telephone Company (3) and 21 ViaNet Group Limited. Bidding alongside three long-established mobile operators in Hong Kong – PCCW, 3 and China Mobile – 21 Vianet Group (formerly AsiaCloud) is a carrier-neutral internet data centre services provider with branches across mainland China.
