Vivo extends 3G network to 2,000 municipalities with Nova Santa Barbara rollout

Brazil’s largest mobile operator by subscribers Vivo Participaoes, owned by Telefonica of Spain, last week confirmed that its 3G network now covers 2,000 cities following the addition of Nova Santa Barbara, in northern Parana. Vivo says its mission goal – under Plan Vivo Internet Brazil – is to expand its 3G coverage to 2,832 counties, representing 85% of the population.
