EMC to deploy new IT infrastructure for Paltel

US-based EMC Corporation has revealed that it has been selected by Palestinian fixed line incumbent Palestine Telecommunications Company (Paltel) to rollout a new IT infrastructure for the telco. According to the vendor, as part of the project Paltel will benefit from an enhanced IT infrastructure performance and availability, with EMC deploying its VMAX and Data Domain deduplication storage systems; the new storage infrastructure is designed to reduce the total cost of ownership both from initial capital expenditure and ongoing operational costs. Commenting on the development, Mustafa Hasan, general manager of Hulul, Paltel Group’s IT arm, said: ‘Our work with EMC has proven successful over the years. Paltel Group is continuously growing, that is why we are always after the latest technological developments and technical trends, so that we can provide secure and continuous services to our customers across all core networks, mobile, fixed and data.’
