Japanese internet access and network solutions provider Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) has revealed plans to offer a 4G mobile virtual operator service based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) available on its enterprise-class IIJ Mobile Service/Type D package starting February 2012. GlobeNewswire reports that the service will offer maximum download speeds of 37.5Mbps and boasts a number of key features, including low-latency data communications, a secure mobile environment to support corporate users, a three-tier pricing model and smart dongle devices (two LTE-ready USB mobile Wi-Fi routers) to deliver high speed mobile access to laptops/PCs and wireless LAN enabled smart devices. It is also understood IIJ will make the new LTE service available to its mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) business partners.
