Uzmobile to expand 3.5G network in 2012

Uzmobile, the wireless subsidiary of Uzbekistan’s state-owned telco Uzbektelecom will spend USD9.1 million to expand the coverage of its CDMA-2000 1xEV-DO Rev A network in the first half of 2012, reports The Times of Central Asia. Uzmobile plans to spend USD7.1 million on the project, with a further USD900,000 pencilled in for upgrades to its SMS centre, and USD600,000 for software and optimisation.
