Cableco Blizoo announces USD4.8m network investment

Macedonian cable operator Blizoo, which was formed through the amalgamation of regional players CableTEL and Eurocom, has announced plans to invest EUR3.5 million (USD4.8 million) next year to develop its networks. Skopje-based Blizoo, owned by Swedish private investment fund EQT, offers analogue/digital cable TV, broadband and telephony services in the country, and is currently implementing a network digitisation programme to broaden and improve its product offering. Part of a bigger operation in Bulgaria and Macedonia, Blizoo operates in most large cities in those countries and has a combined subscriber base of 470,000. In 2010 the group reported annual sales of EUR60 million.
