A1 launches FTTH in two more Viennese districts

8 Nov 2011

A1 Telekom Austria has confirmed that it has launched fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband services in the 15th and 19th districts of Vienna, extending coverage to approximately 90,000 households. The launch means that the telco is on track to achieve its goal of 50% fibre-optic household coverage by the end of 2011, rising to 55% by 2013. Customers whose homes are passed by Telekom’s fibre rollout now have access to ‘Gigaspeed 50’ and ‘Gigaspeed 100’ services, which offer download speeds of 50Mbps and 100Mbps, for EUR29.90 (USD41.15) and EUR44.90 respectively.
