Vodafone Qatar’s sales jump 53%, six-month EBITDA turns positive

UK-Qatari venture Vodafone Qatar has reported that its revenue for the first six months of its fiscal 2011/12 year leapt by 53% to QAR590 million (USD162 million), while its six-month net losses narrowed to QAR237 million, down from QAR312 million in the same period of 2010/11. EBITDA in the April-September 2011 period was QAR65 million, compared with a QAR32 million loss a year earlier. Vodafone Qatar’s mobile subscribers increased by 35% year-on-year to 814,000 at the end of September.
