Kuwait-based telecoms group Zain has reported consolidated revenues of KWD988.1 million (USD3.58 billion) for the nine months ended 30 September 2011. This figure represents an increase of 2.2% compared to the same period one year earlier. Meanwhile, the company’s consolidated EBITDA reached KWD444.4 million during the period, a 4% improvement on the figure generated during 9M10. Elsewhere, net income for the first nine months of 2011 rose 7%, to reach KWD210.2 million. In operational terms, Zain reports that customers across its network have increased by 17% year-on-year, to reach 41.4 million by 30 September 2011, equivalent to around 6.1 million net new additions. The telecoms giant has yet to release a full operational breakdown, although one is expected later this month.
