Rogers’ customers get LTE handsets

28 Oct 2011

Canada’s Rogers Communications has activated the first Long Term Evolution (LTE) smartphones in the country. Customers purchasing the LTE-compliant Samsung Galaxy S II handset, exclusive to Rogers’ network, currently experience typical mobile data download speeds ranging from 12Mbps to 25Mbps. Rogers launched its commercial LTE network in July for computer users, and now offers coverage to more than 5.5 million people – around 9% of the population – in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa.
