LIME squeezes out 21Mbps via HSPA+

7 Oct 2011

The Caribbean business of Cable & Wireless, Lime, has launched HSPA+ mobile services in the Cayman Islands. The move follows an announcement made by Lime in May that it was planning to become the first operator in the Caribbean region to roll out HSPA+ (with theoretical maximum mobile data speeds up to 21Mbps). The network, deployed by Ericsson, provides 100% coverage of all three Cayman islands: Grand Cayman; Little Cayman; and Cayman Brac. Lime revealed that it now plans to expand HSPA+ services to Barbados and the Bahamas, with launches expected before the end of the year.
