Polkomtel deal hits speed bump

23 Sep 2011

Polish media tycoon Zygmunt Solorz-Zak has announced that regulatory approval will delay his purchase of Polkomtel by several more weeks. Poland’s anti-monopoly watchdog, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has requested additional details which will extend the approval process beyond its normal two-month deadline for approval.

As previously reported by CommsUpdate, Solorz-Zak finalised an agreement with Polkomtel’s owners in July to buy the telco for PLN15.1 billion (USD5.5 billion).
