Claro introduces 50Mbps FTTH network

23 Sep 2011

America Movil’s (AM’s) Claro Argentina has launched its new broadband service offering speeds of up to 50Mbps. The service is provided over its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network and is currently available in the districts of Tres de Febrero, Moron, Vicente Lopez, Avellaneda and Berazategui, in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. Residential plans are available at ARS140 (USD33.2) a month for the 50Mbps package, and include all local and national voice calls plus unlimited data. Claro has been upgrading the pre-existing Telmex Argentina fibre network since AM’s fixed and mobile operations in the country were combined under the Claro banner in October 2010, and its FTTH network currently covers 300,000 households.
