22 Sep 2011

As part of a relaunch under which it expects to introduce a number of new services, Latvian cableco Baltkom has changed its name to Baltcom, Broadband TV News reports. Having unveiled the minor revision to its moniker, the operator has also set out its stall to become the leading provider of TV and internet services in the country by 2015. To achieve this goal it has noted that it expects to invest around EUR50 million (USD68.4 million) in 2012, the bulk of which will be directed towards network modernisation and expansion. Baltcom has said that it expects its fibre network coverage to almost triple by next year, up from around 90,000 premises to 250,000.
