Tirana to sell 16% stake in Albtelecom

The Albanian government will sell its 16% stake in fixed line operator Albtelecom. Local news source Shqip reports that the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy has set 28 October as the date for the tender, and will set a minimum price of EUR34 million (USD46.9 million). The government will be selling 2,515,255 ordinary shares, currently owned by the Albanian state stock company.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Calik Enerji Telekomunikasyon Hizmetleri (CETEL) owns 76% of Albtelecom.
