Telus extends DC-HSPA+ network across Atlantic Canada

Canadian quadruple-play operator Telus has announced an upgrade of its wireless network in the Atlantic provinces to dual carrier (DC) HSPA+ standard, raising national DC-HSPA+ coverage to 70% of the population. Faster mobile data speeds of up to 42Mbps (theoretical download) are now available in locations including Moncton, New Brunswick; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Halifax, Nova Scotia; St. John’s and Newfoundland. Average peak speeds are expected to be in the range 7Mbps-14Mbps.
