TIM Brasil allocates BRL20m for network improvements

Brazilian mobile operator TIM Brasil is investing BRL20 million (USD11.9 million) to expand and modernise its networks. Under the plan, the telco will upgrade its IP core network router equipment by 12 November, it said. The switchover will see it installing new Cisco Terarouter CRS-3 equipment, each router having individual capacity of up to 4.5Tbps, it said.
