NTT America and NTT do Brasil, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Japan’s NTT Communications (NTT Com) have announced the joint expansion of the group’s Tier 1 global IP network through a new point of presence (PoP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The pair hope the new connectivity point in the region will enable them to better serve LatAm service providers and content delivery networks through its high-capacity network. ‘Sao Paulo is the ideal location to establish our first global IP network PoP in South America it’s the epicentre of Latin America’s emerging marketplace with many opportunities for companies looking to increase their global footprint and drive the market forward,’ said Michael Wheeler, vice president of NTT America’s Global IP Network business unit.
