Vodafone Essar and IBM renew outsourcing deal

8 Sep 2011

Indian mobile network operator Vodafone Essar and US-based IBM have reportedly renegotiated the outsourcing contract first signed between them in 2007, India’s Economic Times reports. With the two companies having originally agreed a five-year, USD400 million deal back in 2007, it is understood that, with the contract expiry looming, negotiations to restructure the deal were completed last month, with the revised contract estimated to be worth between USD800 million and USD1 billion. The report claimed that a Vodafone Essar spokesperson had confirmed the renewal of the deal, but would not be drawn on financial details.
