SFR has announced its results for the first six months of 2011, revealing a 2% decrease in year-on-year revenues to EUR6.1 billion (USD8.8 billion). Sales from mobile revenues fell 3.9% to EUR4.3 billion after the company elected not to pass on a VAT rise on 1 January. Excluding the impact of the new VAT standard and regulator-imposed price cuts, mobile revenues increased by around 1.5%. SFR added 220,000 net new post-paid mobile subscribers, lifting the company’s post-paid subscriber base to 16 million and the total customer base to 21.1 million. Revenues from broadband internet and fixed line telephony rose 1.3% to EUR2 billion, thanks in part to a 6.4% increase year-on-year in residential broadband subscribers to 4.983 million.
