The Jakarta Globe reports that Telkom Indonesia is planning to deploy thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots across the country as it seeks to keep up with the explosion in mobile data use. The hotspots are to be set up in cooperation with the company’s subsidiaries Telkomsel, Speedy and Flexi. Telkomsel has already created 516 hotspots out of a planned 5,400, while Speedy has installed 312 out of a planned 2,000. Customers will be able to use a single log-in irrespective of whether the hotspot is managed by Telkomsel, Speedy or Flexi.
