PCCW Global, a subsidiary of Hong Kong telecommunications provider PCCW Limited, and Vietnamese operator FPT Telecom have announced they have interconnected their Ethernet networks for improved international network coverage and service availability. The collaboration is an extension of the long-standing relationship between the two companies since they interconnected their MPLS networks in 2008. The interconnected MPLS and Ethernet infrastructures allow PCCW Global and FPT to offer enterprise customers MPLS VPN and Switched Ethernet with different classes of service (CoS), enabling optimum integration of offices and applications in any corporate environment with minimal capital investment. ‘We are pleased to continue our long-term relationship with FPT,’ commented Mr. Stephen Pang, PCCW Global’s senior vice president of Asia Pacific, adding: ‘The enterprises in Vietnam have been looking for the best international connectivity solutions for overseas expansion and the collaboration will enable PCCW Global to capture this rising demand.’
