Telekom Slovenije has published its results for the first half of 2011, revealing that revenue stood at EUR402 million (USD581 million), down 3% year-on-year. However, lower operating costs helped boost EBITDA by 5% to EUR138 million, while EBIT grew sharply by 61% to EUR40.3 million. In addition to lower operating expenses, as reasons behind the gains the telco also cited ‘restructuring the operations of subsidiaries abroad, changes in sales and marketing, and optimising working capital’. CAPEX for the period was EUR30 million, the bulk of which was spent domestically. Telekom Slovenije also announced that on 1 July it completed its merger with mobile division Mobitel, a move the company hopes will save it EUR140 million by 2015.
