Online news portal Realdeal.hu writes that retailer Tesco is considering the launch of Tesco-branded mobile services in Hungary through a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) business model. To that end, it is understood the chain has already registered a number of domain names – including tesco-mobile.hu and tesco-mobil.hu – on which to launch the service. Tesco, which already operates MVNO services in the UK, Ireland and Slovakia, is reportedly partnering with Vodafone Hungary to host what would be the country’s first own-brand MVNO. Vodafone has already inked partnership deals with Magyar Posta and TV2 in the country, but Tesco would be the first player offering its own branded products and customer services team, over another company’s host network.
