24 Aug 2011

Swiss telco Sunrise has reported a 0.08% year-on-year decrease in revenues to CHF498.5 million (USD636.6 million) in Q2 2011. Gross profit for the April-June period was up to CHF351 million, from CHF319 million the previous year. EBITDA margin for Q2 2011 was 29.4% and CAPEX was recorded at CHF33 million, down from CHF38 million in Q2 2010. Mobile revenues increased, due to a greater proportion of post-paid users and rising subscriber figures offsetting falling income from landline services; mobile revenues rose to CHF326.5 million from CHF296.6 a year earlier, whilst landline voice services generated CHF128.1 million, down from CHF158.4 in Q2 2010. The number of wireless subscribers increased year-on-year by 7% to 2.04 million, and the proportion of post-paid customers reached 51.4%, up from 47.6% a year earlier as a result of a continuing high demand for smartphones.
