Chile to get lower tariffs and 4G auction

Chile’s undersecretary for telecommunications, Jorge Atton, has called for telecoms tariffs across the country to be cut, according to Telecompaper citing local newspaper El Mercurio. Although specific details have yet to be released, the proposals include plans to reduce broadband access rates by half by the end of 2013. Further, Atton revealed that Chile will launch a tender for 4G concessions before the end of this year.
