Globe calls for PLDT licences to be revoked

In the latest development of an increasingly bitter dispute, Globe Telecom has asked the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to revoke all licences and frequencies granted to PLDT and its subsidiaries Smart Communications and Connectivity Resource Enterprise (CURE). Globe says that the recent findings that the majority of the voting shares of PLDT are foreign-owned mean that PLDT and its subsidiaries can not engage in public service. PLDT officials, however, said that Globe’s newest filing is merely a rehash of earlier unfounded claims.
