Viettel rumoured to be looking at Slovakia mobile entry

10 Aug 2011

The Slovakian telecoms regulator TUSR has revealed that it has received several expressions of interest in mobile spectrum licences in the digital dividend 700MHz/800MHz band as well as the 4G-suitable 2.6GHz band, both earmarked for auction in 2012. One of the international companies making enquiries to enter the country’s mobile sector is Vietnam’s Viettel, writes Telecompaper citing a report from Mobilmania which says that representatives of the Vietnamese group – present in such far flung countries as Haiti, Cambodia, Mozambique and Peru – visited the Slovak watchdog on 4 August.
