NetVision reports profit increase in 2Q11

Israeli alternative fixed line provider NetVision saw net profit rise by 12% year-on-year to ILS27.2 million (USD7.6 million) in the three months ended 30 June 2011, Globes Online reports. Ahead of a planned merger with the mobile network operator Cellcom, NetVision posted revenues of ILS315.1 million in the second quarter of 2011, up 0.4% against the same period a year earlier, while operating profit increased by 12% to ILS38 million boosted by higher margins on internet access and telephony services.

In operational terms, NetVision reportedly added a net 4,000 subscribers to its broadband subscriber base during the quarter to bring its total to 613,000 at end-June 2011.
