MNP launch slips back

4 Aug 2011

Montenegro’s plans to launch number portability (NP) for both mobile and fixed lines by 1 August this year have been scrapped following delays in testing the system. NP will instead be available by the end of the year. The regulator has stipulated that the user will be charged the cost of porting the number, which it expects to be less than EUR5 (USD7), although cellcos will have the option to absorb the cost if they wish.
