Bandwidth infrastructure provider euNetworks has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Vodafone Germany to deliver fibre services to the operator in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. The deal will enable Vodafone to strengthen its fibre-optic network to support its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network rollout. The agreement also provides for opportunity for further expansion and cooperation, enabling Vodafone Germany to benefit from euNetworks’ extended footprint. ‘LTE delivers a technological quantum leap for the industry, and is the first gigabit technology in the mobile sector,’ commented Hartmut Kremling, chief technology officer of Vodafone Germany, adding: ‘A strong underlying fibre optic network is important for us as we roll out LTE across Germany. euNetworks has this network in key markets. Its demonstrated commitment to this partnership and unique assets deliver great value to our overall network strategy.’ euNetworks recently expanded its nationwide fibre network in Germany following the acquisition of LambdaNet Communications Deutschland. The company already owned and operated seven metropolitan networks in the country.
