Telkom’s Mitratel unit seals USD117m loan from BRI

The Jakarta Post reports that Dayamitra Telekomunikasi (Mitratel), a unit of Indonesia’s largest telco by subscribers Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom), has secured an IDR1 trillion (USD117.3 million) loan from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) for CAPEX this year. In a statement published today, the bank confirmed the signing of the six-year lending facility which Mitratel will use to build and acquire towers and supporting facilities. BRI director Djarot Kusumayakti said: ‘The telecommunications sector has good growth potential, because telecommunications is among the most important facilities supporting various activities in people’s lives.’
