Total mobile base dips to 11.704m in June

The total number of mobile phone users in Hungary fell by a net 68,000 to 11.704 million between May and June, according to figures published by the regulator the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH). Of the total, some 10.959 million were classed as ‘active’ users it added, up 12,000 month on month, as cellular penetration contracted to 117.4% from 118.0% a month earlier.

In terms of market share, T-Mobile commanded 44.50% of total users at end-June, up from 44.28% a month earlier, ahead of Telenor with 32.90% (down from 33.23%) and Vodafone with 22.59% (22.49%). Meanwhile the picture for active users remained relatively static: T-Mobile (45.11%), Telenor (32.27%) and Vodafone (22.62%).
