Vodafone Qatar grows subscriber base 43%, revenues up 65%

Vodafone Qatar has announced that its net losses in its first fiscal quarter of 2011/12 narrowed to QAR122 million (USD34 million) from QAR148 million a year earlier. In the three months ending 30 June 2011 the mobile operator – which will eventually roll out nationwide fixed broadband and telephony – saw its revenues rise by 65% year-on-year to QAR291 million as cellular subscribers increased by 43% to 761,000.
