Qtel commits to Q.NBN fibre plan

Qatar Telecom has signed a heads of agreement (HoA) with state-sponsored private joint venture Qatar National Broadband Network (Q.NBN) to support the government’s plan to roll out direct fibre broadband services to 95% of Qatar’s households and 100% of the country’s businesses by 2015. Second national operator (SNO) licensee Vodafone Qatar is also involved in the project.
