Ecuadorian state-run mobile operator Alegro PCS, part of national PSTN operator CNT, is going through with a USD74 million plan to migrate its network users from CDMA2000-based services to W-CDMA/HSPA+ technology, according to government sources quoted by the El Universo newspaper. The report says that Huawei and Alcatel-Lucent have been selected as vendors for the project, which had previously been announced but not confirmed.
