Latvian cableco IZZI has set aside around EUR10 million (USD14.5 million) for investment in 2011, with the funding to be aimed at upgrading its infrastructure and developing new services. According to Broadband TV News, the operator has also set itself the goal of having a ‘modern telecommunications network’ in place in the country’s capital Riga by 2012, with its existing 400km fibre-optic network in the city expected to double in size by that date.
