H1 Telekom to launch IPTV service

Croatian alternative telco H1 Telekom has revealed plans to launch a commercial IPTV service this autumn. The operator says its digital TV customers will also be provided with a video store, digital video recording and inclusive access to social networking applications and the Youtube channel, reports Telecompaper. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, H1 Telekom provides fixed broadband and telephony services via an unbundled local loop DSL network covering more than half a million homes, and has introduced a trial IPTV service in Split; H1 will join incumbent telco T-Hrvatski Telekom (including Iskon), Optima Telekom and Metronet in the Croatian triple-play market.
