Mexico’s Comision Federal de Telecomunicaciones (Cofetel) has announced that it intends to impose sanctions against five mobile voice providers for providing substandard services, Reuters reports. It is understood that the watchdog will issue 16 separate sanctions against the five unnamed providers for breaching a service quality plan which dates back to 2003, although Cofetel has not yet clarified what the penalties will actually entail.
