10 Jun 2011

Guam telecoms operator GTA TeleGuam has announced it has completed the transfer of its ownership from California-based Shamrock Capital Advisors to Japanese private equity firm Advantage Partners for an undisclosed amount. The deal, first announced in November 2010, has secured all necessary approvals from the Guam Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and US telecoms regulator the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). ‘With Advantage Partners, GTA TeleGuam has a strong and supportive owner that is willing to provide corporate and financial resources needed to successfully lead the company through its next growth phase,’ commented Dan Moffat, president and CEO of GTA TeleGuam, adding: ‘This transaction is good for all stakeholders including customers, employees, investors, and the island of Guam because it preserves the competitive landscape and local jobs. Going forward, GTA TeleGuam will operate business as usual with the same employee team.’ GTA TeleGuam provides a number of communications services on the island of Guam, including local and long-distance telephony, 3G wireless telephony, DSL internet access and IPTV.
