ictQATAR rejects Vodafone’s claim against Qtel on international call pricing

Qatar’s telecoms regulator, ictQATAR, has rejected a claim by the country’s second national operator (SNO) Vodafone Qatar that former monopoly Qatar Telecom (Qtel) acted anti- competitively when pricing international calls by offering below-cost tariffs. As reported by Bloomberg, Lana Khachan, a spokeswoman for Vodafone Qatar, said in an e-mailed statement that ‘ictQatar has made their determination following a regulatory investigation, which Vodafone Qatar respects.’
