Having announced the launch of a new 3G network across London, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester in March 2011 on the back of regulator Ofcom’s decision to liberalise spectrum in the 900MHz and 1800MHz bands, British cellco O2 UK has revealed that it has now extended the coverage of its 900MHz UMTS infrastructure to nine more cities. According to Mobile News, the network operator has expanded the footprint of its 900MHz 3G network to offer services to customers in Bradford, Bristol, Glasgow, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leicester, Sheffield and Liverpool.
