euNetworks acquires LambdaNet Communications Deutschland

Bandwidth infrastructure provider euNetworks has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Germany-based LambdaNet Communications Deutschland, a 100% subsidiary of 3U Holding. The transaction, which includes a cash payment of EUR25 million (USD36 million), is aimed at strengthening euNetworks’ position in the German market. LambdaNet’s service portfolio includes Ethernet, Wavelength, Colocation, Internet Protocol (IP) based data services and other transmission services. These are delivered to both carriers and enterprises, primarily throughout Germany. LambdaNet offers services out of 25 data centres across Germany and has subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Austria. It posted 2010 revenues of EUR36.8 million and EBITDA of EUR9.7 million. euNetworks Group owns and operates 13 metropolitan fibre networks across Europe connected with a high capacity intercity backbone. The company offers a portfolio of metro and longhaul Ethernet and IP services including Dark Fibre, Dedicated Fibre, Wavelengths, Ethernet and Internet.
