MTN settles Guinea licence issue

Reuters reports that wireless network operator MTN has resolved its disagreement with the government of Guinea concerning a EUR15 million (USD21.5 million) licence fee. A MTN spokesman told the news agency that the matter between it and the government has been resolved but refused to divulge further details. A decree signed by Guinean president Alpha Conde ruled that the state had the power to requisition all personnel, equipment, facilities and assets of the company from 2 May, until such time as the dispute is settled.
