Brazil broadband base reached 38.5m at end-March, Telebrasil says

Brazil’s Associacao Brasileira de Telecomunicacoes (Telebrasil) says the country was home to a total of 38.5 million fixed and mobile broadband connections at the end of March, up 51.5% year-on-year. At that date fixed broadband accesses reached 14 million, up 20.5% when compared to 31 March 2010, while mobile broadband growth reached 77.7% pushing the total to 24.4 million from 13.7 million previously. The Telebrasil report added that mobile broadband was present in 1,441 municipalities at the end of the first quarter, while fixed broadband services could be received in 5,000 municipalities.
