12 Apr 2011

Pakistani WiMAX operator Augere, which offers services under the Qubee brand name, has introduced a new pre-paid option available to customers via scratch card credit top-ups. Internet access speeds of up to 512kbps are accessible to purchasers of all denominations of scratch cards, with validity ranging between three and 30 days. Qubee was launched in Pakistan in July 2009, and in October that year Augere sold a 25% equity stake in the WiMAX business to private equity firm Harbinger Capital Partners for USD50 million.
