Dow Jones Newswires reports the French telecoms regulator Arcep as saying that the planned auction of 4G mobile spectrum is likely to take place in early May. The watchdog is keen to award the frequencies before the end of this year and is currently finalising the terms and conditions of the auction with the government, according to its president Jean-Ludovic Silicani speaking at a press conference. The French authorities hope the auction will raise up to EUR2 billion (USD2.9 billion).
